Flooding

February 6th, 2014

Yesterday we had  37ml of rain in about fourteen hours ,which caused the river alongside of Averys Garden centre to burst its banks and threaten the Garden Centre it`s self. We had to get all the  things off the floor onto benches, but fortunately the water did not come in.

An indication as to how high it the water got ,can be seen from  this picture taken the day after the  previous one,

in the blog on reinstating the telephone lines. If  the telephone phone engineers had left it a day later, they would not have been able to reconnect us.

This picture is taken behind the Garden centre, showing Netherclay Road flooded and completely impassable.
