Himalayan birch in winter

Himalayan birch in winter

What can be better in the winter than the sight of the white bark of a birch tree against a grey sky, especially the variety Betula Utilus ,the Himalayan birch, which has an almost white trunks.

They make an ideal tree for the garden, in being fairly quick growing, good yellow autumn colour ,create only a light shade allowing other plants to grow underneath it,and is a good tree for supporting wildlife.

One of the joys of spring is to see a silver birch with yellow daffodils or snowdrops in  flower around the trunk. Then we Know springs finally arrived.
