SnowdropsAt this time of year, especially with these wet overcast days ,what better sight is there to gladden the heart and hold out their promise of better days to come as spring is just around the corner. I was told once that in the second world war, fighter pilots would smear the sap from snowdrop bulbs onto their windscreens ,to help prevent them icing over when flying. There must be something in a snowdrop to prevent them freezing?
