Feeding Tomatoes

July 22nd, 2013

With all this hot sunny weather, it is important to water tomatoes at least once a day and possibly twice a day if planted in pots.

It’s also a good idea to spray the Tomatoes with water through the day so as to encourage the fruit to set.

We at Avery’s Plant Centre recommend feeding at less once a week and possibly twice as the plants get larger, with Tomorite or if growing organically Maxicrop seaweed feed.

Feeding the plants will pay dividens in the amount of tomatoes produced on the plants.

Allowing the tomatoes to dry out before watering can cause the fruits to crack and split and become unsightly.
