Potting on Geraniums

March 13th, 2015

At this time of year work in the nursery starts to become very busy. One of the main jobs this week is potting up the young geranium plants into 11cm pots. The compost we are using for this is Durston  Multipurpose Compost,to which we add a small amount of slow release fertilizer granules so as to give the fast growing geraniums a good start.

Remember when potting up the plants such as the geraniums, to only lightly firm the compost with the finger tips around the plant, as after potting up they should be watered in,which will also settle the compost in the pot.
