Naturalised tulip bulbs

April 21st, 2014

We are familiar with daffodils being naturalised in the grass and woodland settings.

What is not so well know is that tulips can be naturalised the same as daffodils, given a sunny, well drained area.

Shown in the picture are some lily flowered tulips that have been growing happily  amongst  some Japanese Acers for a number of year.

These come up every spring to give us this cheerful display.

At the end of August/September our bulbs  will be in stock ready for planting, and this is the best time to get those tulip bulbs planted for naturalizing, which will give years of colour every spring.

Yes lovely!!! Can I go now…
