An ideal plant for the smaller garden

An ideal plant for the smaller garden

In this early spring we are being spoiled for choice with the profusion of colour in the gardens. One of the most prolific for colour and impact, rivalling even the camellias ,are the magnolias with colours ranging from white  through to red. They thrive best in a woodland or sheltered position.

Some can make trees up to 30 ft.while other`s ,are  ideally suited  for the smaller garden ,such as Magnolia sellata.

Last week I went to Killiton ,National Trust Gardens near Exeter, where they had growing in full bloom (shades of pink) some magnificent tree magnolias ,but with no named on them, which I must admit I find irritating.
