Jasper, the English bull terrier, checking that the compost is under cover.

Now that March is here, with its warmer and hopefully sunnier days, the gardening season suddenly starts to go into overdrive, as the sap begins to rise and plants such as quickthorn are already showing leaf in the hedges.

Seed sowing, potting up plants, all suddenly seem to be need our attention and for this window of opportunity to make good flower displays or  grow good vegetables we need good compost. At Avery’s we stock a wide range of compost for all the plants needs and requirements.

Our compost is always stored and sold under cover so that the bags don`t get wet and are shaded from the direct sun, which can effect the fertilizer in the compost, thereby reducing the positive effect on the growth of a potted plant or perhaps poor germination of seed sown into it.
