Buddleia Pink Delight

July 11th, 2014

If there’s one plant that can take the accolade for having outstanding flowers and yet can grow and thrive in really dry sunny positions, such as banks, it`s got to be the Buddleia. One of the best varieties of Buddleia is one called ‘Pink Delight’ with its large inflorescence, made up of hundreds of flowers.

Buddleia are also one of the best garden plants for attracting the butterflies and honey bees.

Growing up in Gosport all the old bomb sites had masses of Buddleias growing on them. There, they were know by locals as Hitler’s weeds and some said that the Buddleia  seeds must  have been in the bombs, for the buddleias to establish so quickly but I should have thought ,Hitler had other things on his mind other that beautifying the bomb sites
